




















EDWARD LEWIS - Conference Advisor
Ed has been involved in the UCL Finance Conference since its inception in 2010, and was the Director of the 2011 conference. For the 2012 conference he will be helping out in an advisory capacity. Having finished studying Economics and Geography at UCL in 2011, he is now working at VTB Capital in London as part of the Elevate Graduate Programme.

ZHI YONG HENG - Chairman
Zhi Yong is a second year student at UCL, majoring in BSc Economics and Statistics. He has been involved in running the UCL Finance Conference 2011 and is currently heading the 2012 conference. He has developed this year's conference further by spearheading several new initiatives such as the Conference Worldwide Internship Scheme. He has a great passion for finance and entrepreneurship and constantly seeks to breakthrough "conventional wisdom's" barricades. After successfully completing internships in Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Threadneedle Investments, he hopes to embark on a career in Finance, pursuing his interest in global macro and bottom-up equity analyses. In his spare time he enjoys rugby and golf and loves to travel and embrace different cultures and traditions.

JAMES WINDSOR - Vice Chairman
James is a second year Information Management for Business student. After completing a spring week at Barclays Capital last year he spent the summer in Beijing interning with the private equity fund TRE Capital. He hopes to join the Sales division of a bank upon graduation. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and watching and playing football.

OLABIYI BOLARINWA - Head of Marketing
Biyi is a second year student at UCL, studying BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance. He and the executive officers have been busy developing UCL Finance Conference's international reach, through building a marketing network spanning 100 of the top universities/business schools in Europe; approaching target universities outside of Europe, and by diversifying the applicant base to cover exceptional high school students right up to young professionals. He has also spearheaded the conference's African internship scheme and has contributed to the other internship schemes. He has past enjoyable work experiences at Goldman Sachs and at Argentil Capital Partners; and hopes to embark on a successful trading career upon graduation, pursuing his interests in the debt and commodity markets.

TOMMY TAN - Head of Sponsorship
Tommy is in his second year at UCL studying doing an undergraduate degree in Law. He has an interest in financial markets and corporate legal work. As the Director of Sponsorships, he aims to provide conference delegates the opportunity to meet the various types of firms in the financial industry. The conference thus includes, amongst others, senior executives from investment banks, asset management firms and law firms. This conference is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand insights from captains of the financial industry, and also to meet like-minded individuals who share a similar passion for finance.

BRIAN NG - Head of Sponsorship
Brian is currently a second year law undergraduate in UCL. In law school, he has taken an active interest in activities involving commercial and corporate law. To this end, he has been engaged in various competitions and business challenges organised by top law firms in the City. He is also a member of the UCL Business Society as well as a societal officer in the UCL Investment society. Academics aside, Brian is also an active sportsman with a passion in rugby, which he has been playing since he was 13. In his free time, he also takes interest in outdoor activities such as hiking and scuba diving.

Michael Harris - Executive Officer (Marketing)
Michael in his own words is "fortunate enough to be reading Physics here at UCL; which keeps him busy, but is hugely rewarding." His ambitions after graduation lie firmly within the finance industry and he therefore devotes much of his spare time to the UCL Investment Society. When not in London He lives in Bordeaux, France. In his spare time he loves to play tennis, and represents UCL competitively.

Daanish Baig - Executive Officer (Marketing)
Daanish studies Information Management for Business and is a keen follower of West Ham United. His ambition is to be an investment banker. He has a large interest in financial markets and client focused jobs in banking. He had a college internship at Credit Suisse as a Tax intern in summer 2010 and he currently work as a Tax Assistant during his university holidays at Credit Suisse.

Nishad Potdar - Executive Officer (Marketing)
Nishad Potdar is a first year student in the BSc Economics course at UCL, and is executive officer for the UCL Finance conference 2012. He is responsible for marketing the conference to selected universities in Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, and for negotiating certain sponsorship deals. Coming from India, Nishad is very interested in development economics and cricket. He aims to work in the city as a trader, before going back to India to earn his bread as an entrepreneur.

Cheng Jia Yun - Executive Officer (Design and Creativity)
Jia is a third year history of art undergraduate who is looking to explore finance related positions as a counterpoint to her research interest in the arts and the global art market through hands-on experience and event management. She has a vested interest in consultancy pertaining to art investment within asset management. In her spare time she is a culinary adventurist and is interested in research papers and fiction alike.

Simona Stabingyte - Executive Officer (Business Development)
Simona is currently in her third year reading BSc Economics. She aspires to pursue a career in investment banking industry after successfully completing internship in Goldman Sachs Securities division last summer. In the last few years she has dedicated her spare time to a number of philanthropic initiatives and adores travelling and discovering new places on every possible occasion.

Rachel is a first year undergraduate reading Economics at UCL, aiming at a career in banking and the financial services. She feels it's the tremendous growth opportunities banking offers and the drive needed to succeed that entices her to join the industry. Her interests lie in languages and culture, and she hopes to pick up a fourth language in the near future.
