Vanessa Donegan holds a degree is Classics from Oxford University. She began her career in 1981 with Grieveson Grant Stockbrokers where she progressed to managing Far Eastern portfolios. She joined Allied Dunbar Assurance in 1986 and in 1994 was appointed as an Executive Director of Threadneedle Investments, which was formed from the merger of Allied Dunbar Assurance and Eagle Star. In September 1997 she was appointed Head of the Asia Pac ex Japan team and in September 2010 her role expanded to oversee all Global Emerging markets. Vanessa currently heads a team of eleven portfolio managers and analysts across Threadneedle’s offices in London and Singapore and has overall responsibility for US$8 bn worth of asset invested in Asia Pac ex Japan and GEMs.
